Fall Newsletter

I see so many patients every day that tell me they have been to everyone in town except the Podiatrist to treat their foot pain. Finally they arrive at our office and get the care they needed in the first place. There are a lot of new Practioners out there telling you they treat foot problems, but the bottom line is that Podiatrists are the ones that are treating feet everyday all day long. Would you go to your family doctor if you had a tooth ache? No, you would go to the Dentist…the person that treats teeth. Podiatrists treat feet, that’s what we do and have 7 years of training after college to do just that and do it well. So, if your feet hurt or your friend’s feet hurt, tell them to see a Podiatrist FIRST, not the Dentist. Thanks for listening to my rant, but it saves people time and a lot of money to see us first.

This soup is great in the Winter and for Thanksgiving .

Butternut Squash Soup

1 Butternut squash

6 cups chicken broth

Thyme dry 1 teaspoon

½ cup evaporated milk

Nutmeg 1/8 teaspoon

1 onion small

1 potato peeled and chopped

Oil 2 tablespoons

Chop onion and add to oil in a large stock pot. Heat onion until soft and add chopped and peeled squash. Saute squash for about 5 minutes and broth, potato and spices. Cover and cook about 30 minutes until squash is soft and potato is soft . Place soup in a blender to puree liquid. Be careful when hot and work in small batches. This can now be stored in the refrigerator. When ready to use, reheat on the stove and add the milk . Serve hot with parsley to garnish.

If you have recipe ideas please share them with us!

Thanks, Dr P.
